    Question Styles

The Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) certification exam is primarily a multiple-choice exam, consisting of 150 questions. Of these, 135 are scored, and 15 are pretest questions that do not count toward the final score. While the exam is mostly in a traditional multiple-choice format, it includes scenario-based questions that require you to apply clinical reasoning and decision-making skills. These case-study-like questions simulate real-life emergency scenarios where you have to assess, diagnose, and manage patients based on presented clinical information.

However, the exam does not include complex formats like drag-and-drop or interactive simulations, focusing instead on assessing your ability to quickly and accurately make clinical judgments within the context of emergency care.

Ordered Response Questions: In these, you may need to put a series of actions or treatments in the correct order of priority.

Hot Spot Questions: You might need to click on a specific area of an image or diagram to indicate where a procedure should be performed or to identify a particular injury.

While the ENP exam does incorporate some case-based scenarios, it primarily relies on multiple-choice questions to evaluate a candidate's clinical competence.
