Washington State Department of Health CME Requirements
Annual State CME Requirements for Washington
- 200 total hours every 4 years
- Maximum of 80 Category 2 Credits
- Maximum of 80 Category 3 Credits
- Maximum of 80 Category 4 Credits
Licensed physicians must complete two hundred hours of continuing education every four years. The certification or recertification must be obtained in the four years preceding application for renewal.

Washington Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery CME Requirements
Annual State CME Requirements for Washington
- 150 total hours every 3 years
- 60 Category 1-A CME
Licensed osteopathic physicians and surgeons must complete one hundred fifty hours of continuing education every three years.
Certification of compliance with the requirement for continuing medical education of the American Osteopathic Association, or receipt of the AMA physicians recognitions award or a current certification of continuing medical education from medical practice academies shall be deemed sufficient to satisfy the requirements of these regulations.
Original certification or recertification within the previous six years by a specialty board will be considered as evidence of equivalent compliance with these continuing professional education requirements.
